1. True knowledge; உண்மை யறிவு. மேதகு விஞ்ஞானத்தான் மெய்ம்மையாம் சுபாவந் தானே [unmai yarivu. methagu vijnanathan meymmaiyam supavan thane] (ஞானவாசிட்டம் தாம. [gnanavasittam thama.] 3).
2. (Buddhist Philosophy) The faculty of consciousness, as a constituent element of Being, one of pañca-kantam, q.v.; பஞ்சகந்தத்துள் ஒன்றாய் ஏனைய நான்கு கந்தங்களின் உண்மை நிலையை அறியும் அறிவு. [panchaganthathul onray enaiya nanku kanthangalin unmai nilaiyai ariyum arivu.] (மணிமேகலை [manimegalai] 30, 33.)
