vēṭaṇēṃ (वेटणें) [or वेंटणें, vēṇṭaṇēṃ].—v c (vēñcaṇēṃ) To pick or pluck (ears of corn, flowers, cotton pods &c.) Pr. divasa gēlā rēṇṭārēṭīṃ divē lāvūna kāpūsa vēṭī. 2 (vēṭa or vēṇṭa) To twist or turn (a wisp of straw, a clout &c.) in a rather forcible or rough and coarse manner. 3 (Commonly vaṭaṇēṃ Sig. I.) To roll (cotton) with a bar to force out its seeds.
