Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionaryṭarakāṅkaḍī (टरकांकडी).—f (For etymology see tarakāṅkaḍī, although the common form is this.) A large and long species of kāṅkaḍī or cucumber, raised on the margin of rivers in the hot season. Popularly affirmed to be the produce of the seed of a tavasēṃ enclosed within the pod of a paḍavaḷa whilst on its stock, and taken out on the ripening of the pod and sown.
