Taṇṭakaṉ (தண்டகன்) [taṇṭakam] noun < Daṇḍaka.

1. A king, after whom Taṇṭakāraṇiyam and Taṇṭakanāṭu took their names; தண்டகாரணியம் தண்டநாடு இவற்றின் பெயருக்குக் காரணமான அரசன். [thandagaraniyam thandanadu ivarrin peyarukkug karanamana arasan.] (கந்தபு. திருநகர. [kanthapu. thirunagara.] 74.)
