śivaśitaḷa (शिवशितळ).—a (śitaḷa by redup.) Cool and fresh;--as air, water, or place. 2 fig. Mild, moderate, gentle, easy;--as a ghāṭa or a slope. 3 Free from peril of demons, robbers, epidemics &c.; tranquil and serene;--as a road, region, place. 4 Soft, easy, tractable, not khaṣṭa or khaḍatara;--used of a dēva or idol. 5 Freed, by propitiation of the evil spirits, from liability to damage or diminution;--used of the rāsa or heap of the thrashing floor. 6 Calm, quiet, peaceful;--used of the mind or spirit.
