Ṛdhyati (ऋध्यति).—(?) , perhaps in transitive sense (so Vedic, not Class. Sanskrit), makes perfect, makes successful: Lalitavistara 178.10 (verse) (svargāmṛtadvāra muñcahī) ṛddhyahi (so Lefm., em.; mss. ṛddhyabhi-, ṛddho bhi-, ṛddhyehi, ṛddhyebhiḥ; Calcutta (see LV.) ṛddhi hi, Foucaux ṛddhihi as impv.) śīlavato cintitaṃ. Tibetan is confused in order but if I understand correctly it reads for this phrase: tshul khrims ldan paḥi bsam pa ḥgrub ḥgyur gyis, which seems to support an impv.: make to become accomplished the thought of (the) one endowed with morality.

context information

Sanskrit, also spelled संस्कृतम् (saṃskṛtam), is an ancient language of India commonly seen as the grandmother of the Indo-European language family (even English!). Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
