Pratyāsataraṇa (प्रत्यासतरण).—nt. (= Pali paccattharaṇa), cover, spread, rug, carpet: kāśika-°ṇaṃ Mahāvastu i.306.9 (em. for mss. pratyottar°, which may point to semi-MIndic °pratyātth° or °pratyatth°); avadāta-°ṇāṃ (v.l. °pratyast°) ii.115.17; avadātapaṭa-°ṇāni iii.70.2; upastaraṇa-°ṇaṃ (by em.) 152.2; °ṇam Mahāvyutpatti 8942 = Tibetan gdiṅ ba, v.l. niṣadanam, which Mironov reads; °ṇam Divyāvadāna 19.20 ff.; °ṇa- Sukhāvatīvyūha 67.7; °ṇena Mūla-Sarvāstivāda-Vinaya ii.89.2; in ib. 89.10-11 kalpa-pra° mala- pra° seem to mean cover designed to keep (a bed or seat) in good condition, and cover (to prevent) soiling (it); for kalpa, Tibetan is cited as miṅ cam (read can), lit. having a name, so reputable.
