Piraḷayam (பிரளயம்) noun < pra-laya.

1. End of a Kalpa when the destruction of the world occurs; கற்பமுடிவு. [karpamudivu.] (கூர்மபுராணம் பிராகிருத. [kurmapuranam piragirutha.] 1.)

2. Dissolution, destruction, annihilation; அழிவு. [azhivu.]

3. Flood, inundation; வெள்ளம். (பிங்கலகண்டு) [vellam. (pingalagandu)]

4. A large number; ஒரு பேரெண். பிரளயத்தினிற் றிரளவே [oru peren. piralayathinir riralave] (கலிங்கத்துப்பரணி [kalingathupparani] 330, புதுப். [puthup.]).
