1. To hasten; to be in haste; to move quickly; விரைந்து செல்லு தல். முடுகழலின் முந்துறுதல் [virainthu sellu thal. mudugazhalin munthuruthal] (புறப்பொருள்வெண்பாமாலை [purapporulvenpamalai] 3, 6).
2. To become urgent; to come to a head; to throng and surge; நெருங்கிவருதல். வெம்மைக்கூற்ற முடு காதே [nerungivaruthal. vemmaikkurra mudu kathe] (தேவாரம் [thevaram] 116, 7).
3. To be strong; வலிமை யாதல். [valimai yathal.] (W.) — transitive To meet; to advance against; எதிர்தல். (பிங்கலகண்டு) [ethirthal. (pingalagandu)]
