Mayaṇajujjha (मयणजुज्झ) is the name of a work by Vucarāja (Budharāja) narrating stories from Jain literature.—The Mayaṇajujjha (in Apabhraṃśa) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Mayaṇajujjha (“the fight against love”) is an Apabhraṃśa representative of the allegoric genre. The purpose is to show the superiority of the Jina, namely Ṛṣabha, who is the only one able to overcome all passions, especially Kāma. The work includes all kinds of metrical forms, the designations of which are given after the verse, but in this ms. the stanzas are numbered continuously. The work was composed in VS 1589 (1532 CE) as stated by the author.
