Maṭku (மட்கு) [maṭkutal] 5 intransitive verb

1. To be dim, dusky; to be deprived of lustre, glory or brilliance; ஒளிமங்குதல். நாகத்தின் வஞ்ச வாயின் மதியென மட்குவான் [olimanguthal. nagathin vancha vayin mathiyena madkuvan] (கம்பராமாயணம் அயோமு. [kambaramayanam ayomu.] 12).

2. To lose strength; to become deficient; வலிகுன்று தல். தரியலர் முனைமட்க [valigunru thal. thariyalar munaimadka] (மகாபாரதம் மீட்சி. [magaparatham midsi.] 176).

3. To be bewildered; மயங்குதல். மட்கிய சிந்தை [mayanguthal. madkiya sinthai] (கம்பராமாயணம் தைல. [kambaramayanam thaila.] 5).
