Maḻuppu (மழுப்பு) [maḻupputal] 5 transitive verb

1. To slur or slip over; நெகிழவிடுதல். [negizhaviduthal.]

2. To bring to naught, make ineffective; காரியத்தைப் பய னற்றதாக நெகிழ்த்துதல். [kariyathaip paya narrathaga negizhthuthal.]

3. To put off, protract, delay, as in coming to a decision; தாமதப் படுத்துதல். [thamathap paduthuthal.] (W.)

4. To deceive; ஏமாற்றுதல். யாரையு மழுப்ப வல்லான் [emarruthal. yaraiyu mazhuppa vallan] (திருவாலவாயுடையார் திருவிளையாடற் [thiruvalavayudaiyar thiruvilaiyadar] 30, 24).
