kāpaḍī (कापडी).—m An individual of a class of mendicants who itinerate from one sacred place to another, carrying a red flag, selling rosaries, the sacred thread, holy water &c. They have a prescribed costume (bhagavēṃ vastra &c.), and are to carry a staff.
