Kaṉṉimār (கன்னிமார்) noun < idem. [Malayalam: kannimār.]

1. Virgins, unmarried girls; மணஞ்செய் யப்பெறாத பெண்கள். [mananchey yapperatha penkal.]

2. Deified females, pious virgins on earth, afterwards born in the supernal worlds in one of the three lower states of bliss; நற்கதிபெற்ற கற்புடைக்கன்னியர். [narkathiperra karpudaikkanniyar.] (W.)
