Kaṉṉaṭam (கன்னடம்) noun < கருநாடகம். [karunadagam.] [Telugu: kannaḍamu, K. kannaḍa, M. kannaḍam.]

1. Name of the Kanarese country including Mysore and the West coast between Malabar and Goa, one of 56 tēcam, q.v.; ஐம்பத்தாறு தேசங்களுள் ஒன்று. கொங்கணங் கன்னடங் கொங்கந் தெலிங்கம் [aimbatharu thesangalul onru. konganang kannadang kongan thelingam] (நன். [nan.] 272, மயிலை. [mayilai.]).

2. Language of the Kanarese, one of 18 languages mentioned in Tamil works; பதினெண்மொழிகளுள் ஒன்று. [pathinenmozhigalul onru.]
