The inclination, direction, bent, bearing, tendency (of an army in march, of the will or disposition, of a speech &c.) 3 An air or affected manner (of speaking, singing, walking, dressing). 4 A forceful sweep (as of a sudden puff or gust). 5 The swing or sweep (as of the skirt of a garment; and fig. of animated or overbearing speech).
