jhaḷambaṇēṃ (झळंबणें).—v c To graze or rase; to rub or brush in passing. 2 To affect; to light upon; to touch;--used of the blast of a piśāca or bhūta. 3 (Poetry.) To occasion unto a smart or pungent pain, lit. fig; to affect sorely; to touch to the quick; to sting, cut, prick. Ex. durjana gāñjitāṃ bāḷakāśī || tēṃ duḥkha jhaḷambē mātēśīṃ ||. Also pitā pāhētō mōha jhaḷambilā ||. 4 To heat (a liquor) in the sunbeams.
