The connection of the ātmā or caitanya (spirit) with a jaḍa (body), and, thus, with outward things and all materiality. Ex. ahaṃ sukhī duḥkhī yēṇēṃ ākārēṃ ahantā lakṣaṇa vṛtti sphurē tē savikāra tusēni ā- dhārēṃ uṭhī ja0 ॥. Also ja0 suṭalā mhaṇajē jñānaprāpti.
