ghālamēla (घालमेल).—f sometimes ghālamēlī f ( H) Disorder, derangement, confused intermixture (of things, accounts, affairs): tumult, disturbance, commotion. Ex. nārāyaṇanāma jayāciyā ṭhāyīṃ || sahaja tēthēṃ nā- hīṃ ghālamēlī ||. 2 Jumbling together; tossing and tumbling about. Hence fig. busy scheming and manœuvring; engaging endlessly in enterprises and adventures; adopting every speculation (to obtain a livelihood &c.) 3 The hurry, bustle, fuss, turmoil, tumult (of any business). Ex. āmhī sāmprata lagnācē ghālamēlīnta āhōṃ. 4 Disturbance or interruption of a course &c. Ex. pathyāmadhyēṃ ghā0 na jhālyāsa guṇa paḍēla. 5 Turning and tossing (as of a sick person): also distress or restlessness of system (as under fever): disturbance of stomach; kecking and heaving (under biliousness): swelter or oppression (under sultriness or closeness).
