(-niḥ) 1. A name of Bhishma. 2. A name of Kartikeya, E. gaṅgā the personified river, (as the wife of Santanu, in the first instance, and mother of the hero; and in the second, as the receiver of Kartikeya, the son of Siva, from Agni, the god of fire.) and phiñ patronymic aff.
