Gandaridae was Gandhara not Gangaridae.—Western historians have translated Gandaridae as Gangaridae and speculated the region of Ganga River to be as Gangaridae. Greek historians mention that Sandokottus was the king of Gandaridae and Prasii. Prasii (Prachi) was the name of eastern India. King Chandra or Xandrames crossed Sindhu (Indus) and conquered the parts of Gandhara and Bahlika kingdom as recorded in the Iron Pillar inscription. Therefore, Gandaridae must be Gandhara Kingdom and not the region of Ganga River.
