Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarygaḷaṇēṃ (गळणें).—v i (galana S) To drop; to be disengaged or detached from and fall--as fruit, flowers, plaster from a wall. 2 To leak; to run or ooze through. 3 To leak; to let through. 4 To run; to emit or let flow--a purulent sore: to flow or exude--the pus. 5 To waste away; to grow lean. 6 To fall away; to drop, sink, perish: also to disappear, vanish, cease, become extinct. Ex. sura asura taī mī baisavi vēgaḷālē || sahaja ripu tari bhāva tyācē gaḷālē; kāśīsa pannāsa asāmī jāvayāsa nighālē tyāntūna pāñca gaḷalē. 7 To be cast or rejected. Ex. sāta asāmī gēlē hōtē tīna cākarīsa rāhilē cāra gaḷalē. 8 To decrease, decline, deteriorate. 9 To fail, sink, die--courage, confidence, hope. 10 To fain, flinch, falter--a person. 11 To be omitted--a matter or point in a narration. 12 (Properly khaḷaṇēṃ) To suffer seminal emission. 13 To be torn, worn, wanting in leaves--a book.
