Camātāṉam (சமாதானம்) noun < sam-ā-dhāna.

1. Peace, tranquillity, equanimity; அமைதி. [amaithi.]

2. Reconciliation; compromise; ராஜி. [raji.]

3. Answer to an objection; explanation; தடைக்கு விடை. [thadaikku vidai.]

4. Stoicism; indifference to pain or pleasure, as of a yogi or sage; சுகதுக்கங்களைப் பொருட்படுத்தாத மனநிலை. [sugathukkangalaip porudpaduthatha mananilai.] (W.)

5. (Philoslophy) State of mind which facilitates contemplation, one of camāti-caṭka-campattu, q.v.; சமாதிசட்கசம்பத்துள் ஒன்றாய்ச் சிந்தனை சுலபமாக நிகழுமாறுள்ள மனநிலை. சித்தஞ் சிந்திக்குமாறு சரசமாய்வைக்கு மித்தைச் சமாதான மென்பர் [samathisadkasambathul onrays sinthanai sulapamaga nigazhumarulla mananilai. sithagn sinthikkumaru sarasamayvaikku mithais samathana menpar] (கைவல்ய நவநீதம் தத்துவ.
