bhusakaṭa (भुसकट).—a (bhūsa) Having much chaff, chaffy--corn. 2 Powdery from being worm-eaten or de- cayed--wood. 3 Light, unsubstantial, chaffy, lit. fig.

These words have with some, but not with the generality, the contemptuous implication pertaining to this class of derivatives. 2 Powder (as of wood worm-eaten, sawn &c.) bhu0 kāḍhaṇēṃ or pāḍaṇēṃ g. of o. (kāmākhālīṃ, rahāṭā- khālīṃ, dāmaṭaṇyākhālīṃ, māraṇyākhālīṃ) To reduce and subdue or to wear down (a man or beast) under hard working. bhu0 nighaṇēṃ-paḍaṇēṃ-vāsaṇēṃ. g. of s. To wear and waste under such treatment.
