(Sktized form of aviddasu, q.v.; Geiger 100.2 records but does not explain the Pali form, which seems to be a curious blend of Pali avidvā = Sanskrit a-vidvān with a-vidu, the s due to Sanskrit viduṣ-, compare viduṣa- ka), ignorant: °sū, nom. pl., Saddharmapuṇḍarīka 45.9; 55.2 (Kashgar recension avidvalāś); 56.2; 204.6; °sūnāṃ, gen. pl., 57.8 (all verses).

Closely allied with Prakrit and Pali, Sanskrit is more exhaustive in both grammar and terms and has the most extensive collection of literature in the world, greatly surpassing its sister-languages Greek and Latin.
