Audīcya (औदीच्य) or Udīcya is the name of an ancient country, kingdom, or tribe of people, according to the Bṛhatsaṃhitā (chapter 16) (“On the planets—graha-bhaktiyoga”), an encyclopedic Sanskrit work written by Varāhamihira mainly focusing on the science of ancient Indian astronomy astronomy (Jyotiṣa).—Accordingly, “[...] Jupiter presides over the eastern part of the Indus, the western half of Mathurā, the countries of Bharata and Sauvīra; the town of Srughna, the province of Udīcya, the Vipāśā and the Śatadru rivers; the countries of Ramaṭha, Śālvā; Traigarta, Paurava, Ambaṣṭa, Pārata, Vāṭadhāna, Yaudheya, Sārasvata, Arjunāyana, one half of Matsya; [...]”.
