Anyaśākhodbhava (अन्यशाखोद्भव):—[tatpurusha compound] m.

(-vaḥ) Lit. Produced by another family, the same as anyavījaja; e. g. anyaśākhodbhavo dattaḥ putraścaivopanāyitaḥ . svagotreṇa svaśākhoktavidhinā svasvaśākhabhāk . (where in the two latter words śākhā means the vaidik school). E. anya-śākhā and udbhava.
