amṛtavēḷa (अमृतवेळ) [or वेळा, vēḷā].—f (amṛta Nectar, vēḷa Time. Nectareous season; halcyon hours.) An auspicious or kindly division of the thirty ghaṭikā. See the eight divisions and the account of them under vēḷa. 2 (Among the amorous and voluptuous.) The hours appropriate to dalliance and enjoyment. 3 (Among physicians.) The season suitable for taking medicine,--the early morning hours. 4 (Freely.) Mollia tempora (fandi &c.); the season of softness and kindliness.
