Source: Shodhganga: The significance of the mūla-beras (śilpa)Ammaiyappa is the name of a deity depicted at the Nellaiappar Temple at Tirunelveli, representing a sacred place for the worship of Śiva.—To the left of the devotee as he/she enters Ampāl’s sannidhi is the sannidhi for Ammaiyappa (Vināyaka with his father and mother) Vināyaka. One finds Gaṇapati in standing posture in his usual form.
