Verse 1434

सपक्षादिंव्यवस्था चेत्कथं पक्षाप्रयोगतः ।
नातस्त्रैरूप्यमप्यस्ति तदपेक्षानिबन्धनम् ॥ १४३४ ॥

sapakṣādiṃvyavasthā cetkathaṃ pakṣāprayogataḥ |
nātastrairūpyamapyasti tadapekṣānibandhanam || 1434 ||

“How then can there be any distinction made regarding the ‘sapakṣa’ (‘that wherein the probandum is known to exist’) and so forth, when the subject (minor term) is not actually stated? the ‘three-features’ also cannot be there; as that too is dependent upon that”—If this is urged [then the answer is as given in the following text].—(1434)

 

Kamalaśīla’s commentary (tattvasaṃgrahapañjikā):

Question:—“How then can there be any distinction made regarding the ‘Sapakṣa’ (‘That in which the Probandum is known to be present’) and so forth?”
