The Garga-samhita Verse 6.1.41, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 1 (Jarasandha’s Defeat) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

जग्राह बलिनं दोर्भ्यां
सन्त्यक्त्वा शस्त्र-संहितम्
तयोर् युद्धम् अभूद् घोरं
बाहूभ्यां रण-मण्डले

jagrāha balinaṃ dorbhyāṃ
santyaktvā śastra-saṃhitam
tayor yuddham abhūd ghoraṃ
bāhūbhyāṃ raṇa-maṇḍale

jagrāha—grabbed; balinam—strong; dorbhyām—with both arms; santyaktvā—abandoning; śastra-saṃhitam—weapons; tayoḥ—of them; yuddham—fight; abhūt—was; ghoram—horrible; bāhūbhyām—with both arms; raṇa-maṇḍale—in the battlefield.

English translation of verse 6.1.41:

Then Lord Balarāma threw away His weapons and with both hands grabbed powerful Jarāsandha. Hand-to-hand they fought a terrible duel in the battlefield.
