Ravisaṃnibha (रविसंनिभ) refers to “one who is refulgent like the sun” and is used to describe Kārttikeya, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.7 (“The gods pray”).—Accordingly, as Sanatkumāra narrated to Vyāsa: “On being eulogised by the gods, the goddess Pārvatī full of wonderful enthusiasm spoke lovingly to her lord, an expert in different kinds of sports. The goddess said:—‘O lord, see the sportive six-faced Kārttikeya, refulgent like the sun (ravisaṃnibha) our excellent son embellished by excellent ornaments’—Thus addressed by the mother of the worlds with pleasing words, Lord Śiva was never satiated in drinking nectar of the beauty of Skanda’s face”.
