The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 4.9.14; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र एकत्र रतिर्, यथा ललित-माधवे —
मन्द-स्मितं प्रकृति-सिद्धम् अपि व्युदन्तं
सङ्गोपितश् च सहजो’पि दृशोस् तरङ्गः ।
धूमायिते द्विज-वधू-मदनार्ति-वह्नाव्
अह्नाय कापि गैत्रि अङ्कुरिताम् अयासीत् ॥४.९.१४॥

tatra ekatra ratir, yathā lalita-mādhave —
manda-smitaṃ prakṛti-siddham api vyudantaṃ
saṅgopitaś ca sahajo’pi dṛśos taraṅgaḥ |
dhūmāyite dvija-vadhū-madanārti-vahnāv
ahnāya kāpi gaitri aṅkuritām ayāsīt
||4.9.14||

English translation

One-sided love, from Lalita-mādhava:
“Though the fire of cupid began to smolder in the brāhmaṇas’ wives, Kṛṣṇa avoided their spontaneous, sweet smiles. He hid the restless glances from His eyes. An indescribable state of peace appeared in Kṛṣṇa’s mind.”
