The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.3.25; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

यथा वा —
शिशोः श्यामस्य पश्यन्ती शैलम् अभ्रंलिहं करे ।
तत्र चित्रार्पितेवासीद् गोष्ठी गोष्ठ-निवासिनाम् ॥२.३.२५॥

yathā vā —
śiśoḥ śyāmasya paśyantī śailam abhraṃlihaṃ kare |
tatra citrārpitevāsīd goṣṭhī goṣṭha-nivāsinām ||2.3.25||

English translation

Another example of stambha arising from astonishment:
“Seeing that Govardhana Mountain, touching the sky, was held up by the hand of a small child, the inhabitants of Vraja became immoble like figures in a painting.”
