The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 1.1.29; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

सद्-गुणादि-प्रदत्वम्, यथा पञ्चमे (५.१८.१२) —
यस्यास्ति भक्तिर् भगवत्य् अकिञ्चना
सर्वैर् गुणैस् तत्र समासते सुराः ।
हराव् अभक्तस्य कुतो महद्-गुणा
मनोरथेनासति धावतो बहिः ॥१.१.२९॥sad-guṇādi-pradatvam, yathā pañcame (5.18.12) —
yasyāsti bhaktir bhagavaty akiñcanā
sarvair guṇais tatra samāsate surāḥ |
harāv abhaktasya kuto mahad-guṇā
manorathenāsati dhāvato bahiḥ ||1.1.29||
English translation
That bhakti bestows good qualities and other things is discussed in the Fifth
Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [5.18.12]:
“One who has unflinching devotion for the Personality of Godhead has all the good qualities of the demigods. But one who is not a devotee of the Lord has only material qualifications, that are of little value. This is because he is hovering on the mental plane and is certain to be attracted by the glaring material energy.”
