The Garga-samhita Verses 6.1.37-39, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. एवं सैन्ये क्षयं याते
जरासन्धस्य सर्वतः
सुयोधनो विन्ध्या-नाथो
बङ्ग-नाथस् तथैव च
सर्वे विदुद्रुवुर् युद्धाद्
भय-भीता इतस् ततः
जरासन्धो महा-वीर्यो
नागायुत-समो बले
रथेनागतवान् राजन्
बलदेवस्य सम्मुखे
समाकृष्य हलाग्रेण
जरासन्ध-रथं शुभम्
evaṃ sainye kṣayaṃ yāte
jarāsandhasya sarvataḥ
suyodhano vindhyā-nātho
baṅga-nāthas tathaiva ca
sarve vidudruvur yuddhād
bhaya-bhītā itas tataḥ
jarāsandho mahā-vīryo
nāgāyuta-samo bale
rathenāgatavān rājan
baladevasya sammukhe
samākṛṣya halāgreṇa
jarāsandha-rathaṃ śubham
evam—this; sainye—in the army; kṣayam—destruction; yāte—attained; jarāsandhasya—of Jarasandha; sarvataḥ—in all respects; suyodhanaḥ—Duryodhana; vindhyā-nāthaḥ—the king of Vindhyā-deśa; baṅga-nāthaḥ—the king of Bengal; tathā—so; eva—indeed; ca—and; sarve—all; vidudruvuḥ—fled; yuddhāt—from the battle; bhaya-bhītā—frightened; itaḥ—here; tataḥ—and there; jarāsandhaḥ—Jarasandha; mahā-vīryaḥ—very strong; nāgāyuta-samaḥ—equal to ten thousand elephants; bale—in strength; rathena—by chation; āgatavān—come; rājan—O king; baladevasya—of Lord Balarāma; sammukhe—in the presence; samākṛṣya—dragging; halāgreṇa—by the tip of His plow; jarāsandha-ratham—Jarasandha's chariot; śubham—beautiful.
English translation of verses 6.1.37-39:
When Jarāsandha's army was completely destroyed, the king of Vindhyā-deśa, the king of Bengal, and Duryodhana became terrified and fled here and there. Then Jarāsandha, who was as strong as ten thousand elephants, drove his chariot to meet Lord Balarāma. With the tip of His plow Lord Balarāma caught the beautiful chariot and dragged it here and there.
