The Garga-samhita Verse 1.4.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. श्री-भगवान् उवाच
नन्दोपनन्द-भवने
श्रीदामा सुबलः सखा
स्तोक-कृष्णो ऽर्जुनो ऽंशुश् च
नव-नन्द-गृहे विधे

śrī-bhagavān uvāca
nandopananda-bhavane
śrīdāmā subalaḥ sakhā
stoka-kṛṣṇo 'rjuno 'ṃśuś ca
nava-nanda-gṛhe vidhe

śrī-bhagavān uvāca—the Supreme Personality of Godhead said; nandaof Nanda; upanandaand Upananda; bhavane—in the home; śrīdāmā—Śrīdāmā; subalaḥSubala; sakhāfriends; stoka-kṛṣṇaḥStoka-kṛṣṇa; arjunaḥArjuna; aṃśaḥ—partial expansions; ca—also; navanew; nanda—of Nanda; gṛhe—in the home; vidhe—O Brahmā.

English translation of verse 1.4.1:

The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: My friends Śrīdāmā and Subala will take birth in the homes of Nanda and Upananda. Stoka-kṛṣṇa, Arjuna, and Aṃśu will take birth in the nine homes of Nanda's relatives.
