The Chaitanya Bhagavata 2.23.446, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 446 of Madhya-khanda chapter 23—“Wandering about Navadvipa On the Day the Lord Delivered the Kazi”.

`বৈষ্ণবের জল-পানে বিষ্ণু-ভক্তি হয’ সবারে বুঝায প্রভু গৌরাঙ্গ সদয ॥ ৪৪৬ ॥
`वैष्णवेर जल-पाने विष्णु-भक्ति हय’ सबारे बुझाय प्रभु गौराङ्ग सदय ॥ ४४६ ॥
`vaiṣṇavera jala-pāne viṣṇu-bhakti haya’ sabāre bujhāya prabhu gaurāṅga sadaya || 446 ||
`vaisnavera jala-pane visnu-bhakti haya’ sabare bujhaya prabhu gauranga sadaya (446)
English translation:
(446) The merciful Lord Gaurāṅga revealed to everyone that one attains devotional service to Viṣṇu by drinking a Vaiṣṇava’s water.
Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:
As stated: gṛhnīyād vaiṣṇavāj jalam—“One should accept water from a Vaiṣṇava.” By drinking the remnants of a Vaiṣṇava’s water, devotional service to Viṣṇu is awakened. Ordinary people consider that all possessions of an akiñcana, or materially exhausted, Vaiṣṇava have some value, except his insignificant water, which they neglect as worthless.
