The Chaitanya Bhagavata 1.3.22, English translation, including a commentary (Gaudiya-bhasya). This text is similair to the Caitanya-caritamrita and narrates the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, proclaimed to be the direct incarnation of Krishna (as Bhagavan) This is verse 22 of Adi-khanda chapter 3—“Calculation of the Lord’s Horoscope”.

Bengali text, Devanagari and Unicode transliteration of verse 1.3.22:

ভাগবত-ধর্ম-ময ইহান শরীর দেব-দ্বিজ-গুরু-পিতৃ-মাতৃ-ভক্ত ধীর ॥ ২২ ॥

भागवत-धर्म-मय इहान शरीर देव-द्विज-गुरु-पितृ-मातृ-भक्त धीर ॥ २२ ॥

bhāgavata-dharma-maya ihāna śarīra deva-dvija-guru-pitṛ-mātṛ-bhakta dhīra || 22 ||

bhagavata-dharma-maya ihana sarira deva-dvija-guru-pitr-matr-bhakta dhira (22)

English translation:

(22) “He is the personification of religious principles and the benefactor of the demigods, the brāhmaṇas, the spiritual masters, His father and mother, and the sober devotees.

Commentary: Gauḍīya-bhāṣya by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura:

In the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam (7.11.7) it is stated: “The Supreme Being, the Personality of Godhead, is the essence of all Vedic knowledge, the root of all religious principles, and the memory of great authorities. O King Yudhiṣṭhira, this principle of religion is to be understood as evidence. On the basis of this religious principle, everything is satisfied, including one’s mind, soul and even one’s body.”

The gross body and subtle mental functions are all foreign. The soul’s eternal activities are called bhāgavata-dharma. The transcendental body of this child is direct service of the Supreme Lord. In other words, He is the personification of devotional service to Lord Kṛṣṇa. Therefore godly qualities like subordination to the demigods, brāhmaṇas, spiritual

masters, father, and mother, who are all devotees of Viṣṇu, are all present in Him.
