by Yashoda Devi | 1933 | 138,355 words

This book recounts the History of the Andhra Pradesh Country from 1000 to 1500 A.D. including many dynasties (for example. the Reddis of Korukonda and the Eruva Chola of Rajahmundry)....

Part 12 - Betaraja (A.D. 1242)

Kondapadumati Betaraja and his servant are heard of from an inscription, dated A.D. 124 2. The king was a subordinate of Kulottunga choda deva. The Chola emperor in A.D. 1242 was Rajaraja III. So Kulottunga, here, must refer to Rajaraja III, provided that the opithet is not a simple repitition from the Kondapadumati prasasti. As the earliest date for Beta’s successor was A.D. 1250, Beta’s reign may have extended till that year.
