Chapter 18 - Country of Ch’i-ngoh-yen-na (Chaghanian or Saghanian)
This country extends about 400 li from east to west, and about 500 li from north to south. The capital is abont 10 li in circuit. There are some five saṅghārāmas, which contain a few monks. Going east we reach Hwuh-lo-mo.
Note: Chaghānian, or Saghāniān, probably corresponds with Hissār, on the Karateghm (or northern) branch of the Oxus, as the text says; the town is in lat. 38°29' N., long. 69°17' E.
