Now hear me, O Sushruta, discourse on the Nidanam of Karnaroga (diseases of the ear). The deranged Vayu, by coursing through the vessels of the ears, produces an extremely aching sensation therein which is called Karna-shula (Otalgia (O?a?gia?)).
