It has a magnificent Kalyana Mandapa which is also a Ratha Mandapa. The author is not quite correct in stating that a Mandapa that is both “Kalyana” and “Ratha” occurs frequently in Chola temples of the twelfth and thirteenth centuries. None of the examples be quotes is actually a “Kalyana Mandapa” also. In fact, the shrine in the Sarangapaniswami temple in Kumbakonam is in the form of a ratha....
