Lakulisha-Pashupata (Philosophy and Practice) [by Geetika Kaw Kher]
Earlier the cave was supposed to have been dedicated to a goddess Yogesvari and Rau as Collins writes was of the opinion that there are footprints of the goddess in natural stone but the fact that there are four images of Lakulisa centered on the lintels above entry and shrine doors proves undoubtedly that it was a Lakulisa-Pasupata site. As seen above the tradition itself “Siddha Yogesvari mata” came to be personified as a feminine deity....
