He repeatedly called “Sita, Sita.” Then he thought that she was probably in her monthly period and said to Lakshmana: “Dear Lakshmana, it behoves you to attend to the Brahmanas, as required by the Shraddha rite, for washing their feet etc.” Saying “Yes”, Lakshmana of auspicious characteristics did everything like an efficient woman. Thus the Shraddha was duly concluded and the Brahmanas went away....

Philosophy of Charaka-samhita [by Asokan. G]
Shita is conceived as the specific quality of water. But Caraka attributes sita to vata instead of anushnashita. This is because vata is seen to be augmented by sita and diminished by its loss.
