This argument is shaky, since it seems clear that in the Nyayamanjari Vacaspati Mishra quotes not Jayanta s but his teacher Trilocana s work. Dineshchandrabhattacharya [=Dinesh Chandra Bhattacharya] [Dineshcandra-bhatta-acarya] gives some additional arguments, the cumulative weight of which would seem to settle the question....
