Sayana clarifies that the Adhvaryu directs the Hotri to recite the Aponaptriya hymn. Eggeling makes it more clear that while the Adhvaryu and his company move to bring the ekadhana waters, at that time, the Hotri utters the Aponaptriya hymn excluding the twelfth verse which has already been recited during the morning prayer as the opening verse....
