He narrates the story of king Ambarisha In ancient times king Ambarisha practises the vow of the 11th day (ekadashi) of the Hindu calendar. One day Durvasa comes to him for breaking his vow. He asks for meals, goes for a bath and delaying intentionally for skipping the stipulated time of vow. The king thinks that eating meals before offering it to the sage would be disregarding him. It would not affect the vow, if he drinks water....

At last Ambarisha s men met Ricika who was doing tapas on Bhrigutunga. Ricika sold his second son, Shunashshepha to Ambarisha in exchange for the price of 100,000 cows. The king took Shunashshepha with him and came to Pushkara tirtha. There they happened to meet Vishvamitra. Shunashshepha complained to Vishvamitra and lamented over his ill-fate. Vishvamitra wished to save him and to send one of his own sons in his place with Ambarisha. But none of his sons was willing to oblige....
