Summary of article contents:

Katigraha is a condition classified under Vataja nanatmaja vyadhi, primarily characterised by varying degrees of pain in the lower back region, ranging from mild to severe. Low back pain can stem from various acute or chronic conditions that significantly impact an individual's daily activities. This case study discusses a female patient who presented with acute pain in the lumbosacral area. Her pain was evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Scale. The patient underwent treatment involving bandaging with Murivenna, Matravasti with Dhanwantara Tailam, and was administered Shamanaoushadhi’s such as Rasnasaptaka kwatha, Trayodashanga guggulu, and Shallaki 400 tablets for ten days. The patient's pain, disability, and tenderness were assessed every second day. By the tenth day, she reported improved flexibility and comfort while lying supine. The patient experienced significant relief from pain and stiffness and enhanced walking ability. Keywords: Katigraha, Murivenna, Matra basti, Bandana INTRODUCTION The term
