Heat stroke is the most serious form of heat injury and is considered a medical emergency. It may occur when a person stays under the sun for a long time. Heat stroke can kill or cause damage to the brain and other internal organs. The hallmark symptom of heat stroke is core body temperature above 104 sign. Ayurveda is a safe and a natural healthcare system that involves the use of natural herbs for managing any health problem. Ayurveda says in case of heSamhita it is called as Ushntaap and in of some herbs such as Narikel, Amalakiand Duralabha, which can reduce the body heat and maintain the Pitta dosh in balance can be used to prevent and treat heat stroke. This paper is a review of prevention and management of heat stroke according to ayurveda.
